A Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) is a trained professional who works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support individuals with speech, language, and communication challenges. SLAs assist in therapy sessions, implement treatment plans, and help clients practice speech exercises, contributing to improved communication skills across various settings. While SLAs play a vital role in patient care, they do not diagnose or create treatment plans independently.
